All our accounts include unlimited bandwidth. You may upload and download as many files as you'd like, and you will never incur an extra charge for bandwidth usage!

We let you connect to our Open Remote Backup accounts via a number of industry standard protocols, including FTP, SFTP, rsync, SCP, SSH & SSHFS. We also allow the tunneling of rsync over SSH, for better security.

In addition to the standard FTP that all of our accounts come with, our Open Remote Backup accounts also include both Secure FTP (SFTP) and FTP-SSL, so you can upload and download your data via an encrypted connection.

We know that you sometimes need extra space in a pinch, and we'll let you automatically exceed your purchased quota by 20% for up to a week. For example, if you have a 100GB plan, we'll let you store up to 120GB of data for up to a week, with no additional charge. If you need more space on a permanent basis, you can upgrade your plan at any time.

We support the use of the popular duplicity backup tool, which lets you store differential backups of the files on your server.

Our Open Remote Backup Space has been designed specifically for use with Unix and Unix-like operating systems, such as Linux (all distros) and *BSD. We support open, industry standard protocols, and work with almost all popular open-source backup software.

We've provided instructions in our support section on how to get connected. Or, if you prefer, you can roll your own backup solution.

We use only the best enterprise-grade business class hardware to store your data.

All of our servers use RAID-6 array (n+2 redundancy), with Seagate & Western Digital enterprise drives that have a minimum of 1.2MM hours MTBF.

Furthermore, all of our data storage servers are housed in a Tier-1, SAS-70 compliant datacenter with biometric authentication.
